Join historians Mary Henry and Jacqueline E.A. Lawson as they share their work documenting the history of Seattle's Black communities. Learn about Seattle's Central Area as it was in the mid-20th Century, as well as the significant African Americans who have shaped our region. This program is presented in partnership with the Black Heritage Society of Washington State (BHS).

         Cancellation Policy

  • Tickets purchased to museum program may be returned for a full refund if cancelled with seven days advance notice. Contact programs@mohai.org or 206-324-1126 x108 to process a refund.
  • If you are unable to attend a program, you may transfer the ticket to another individual by forwarding them a copy of the e-ticket. Will Call tickets may be transferred within 2 days of the scheduled program by emailing programs@mohai.org with the order number, name on the order and the new name of individual picking up the order.
